Write mom a poem. You could write a fun poem, a sentimental poem or even a poem about winter and past Christmas seasons. Then place the poem in a nice photo frame or make a greeting type card from it using your computer and printer.

Make mom a special beaded ornament:

You will need some pipe cleaners and beads in Christmas colors

Bend the pipe cleaner to form a shape such as a star, run the pip cleaner straight through each bead one at a time, twist together at the end.

You can even add bells or holly berries to the ornament.

Does your mom have style, especially holiday style? In you answered yes, you may want to make her some festive napkins.

You will need:

Pieces of felt
Scissors
Glue
Fabric
Plain napkins (hopefully in Christmas colors such as red or green)
Mini pom poms

Cut out attractive shapes such as a Christmas tree or wreath out of the felt.
Glue a shape onto the angle of a napkin. You can use the pom poms to make the napkin a bit more festive and the fabric to help decorate it some.

If those ideas aren't your style here are a few more suggestions:

Christmas cookies or cakes
A Christmas meal
A gift basket containing some of her beloved things
A photo album
Using your computer you could take special old photographs, copy them and even edit them some
Like taking old house pictures and putting them together in a collage
Starting with Grandma and working your way down to the youngest.

What would mom love more than Homemade Christmas Gifts? Can you de facto think of anything?

The Bat: Vincent Price, Agnes Moorehead, Darla Hood (1959 Movie) Video Clips. Duration : 79.63 Mins.

DVD: www.amazon.com thefilmarchive.org The Bat (1959) is a mystery film directed by Crane Wilbur, and starring Vincent Price and Agnes Moorehead. Its tagline was "When it flies, someone dies!" The film was based on the 1920 Broadway play by Avery Hopwood and Mary Roberts Rinehart, which was previously filmed as The Bat (1926) and as The Bat Whispers (1930), both directed by Roland West. The 1959 version also features Darla Hood of The Little Rascals in her final film appearance. The eerie title theme of Louis Forbes' final film score was played by Alvino Rey. Cornelia Van Gorder (Agnes Moorehead) is a mystery author who lives in a town terrorized by a mysterious murderer known only as "The Bat". The Bat is said to be a man with no face who murders women at night by ripping out their throats with steel claws. Early in the film, The Bat enters Van Gorder's house and releases a bat, which bites van Gorder's maid Lizzy (Lenita Lane). With Lizzy in a panic, fearing she may now have contracted "the rabies", an outbreak of which local papers have reported. Van Gorder calls her doctor, Dr Malcolm Wells (Vincent Price), who is conducting research on bats. Meanwhile, the whole town is searching for a million-dollar stash of looted bank securities that were recently stolen. Dr. Wells discovers the location of the treasure when the thief confides in him. Wells then murders the thief in cold blood, presumedly so that he can take the treasure for himself, which he believes to be hidden ...

How to Give to Charity When You're in Debt

To give or not to give? It might be the unspoken interrogate of this holiday season. Americans commonly have a credit as a generous bunch. We give twice as much as the next charitable country (Britain), with somewhere in the middle of 70-80 percent of U.S. Households doling out dollars each year. And the giving frenzy speeds up while the holidays, when we're feeling extra warm and fuzzy.

But, no mistaken, this time is different. Our wallets are a slight (Ok, a lot) thinner, our morale a bit lower. Most of us are struggling to form out how we'll pay for our own Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas gifts this year--let alone for population we've never met. It sounds stingy, but I know I can't afford to donate a 15-pound turkey, cough up the registration fee for our city's annual 5K charity run, or buy a fancy toy to stuff an anonymous child's stocking this year. Come December, I'll be slinking guiltily by the bell ringer at the supermarket.

So, what's a well-meaning but on-a-budget man to do?  It depends. Your No. 1 priority is your family's well-being. Don't feel obligated to give if doing so would jeopardize that. It's your money, it's your life. That said, there's no denying the benefits of philanthropy. Like mom and dad always said, there is always man worse off than you. Along with helping man have a happier holiday, donating is also potentially tax-deductible and sets a good example for the kids.
While cash is the preferred currency of most charitable organizations, it's not the only one--and it's not very realistic while hard times. Here's how I plan to donate on the cheap this year:

Give your time

People say time is money. But giving up a slight bit of your weekend or down time to help man less fortunate won't cut into your bank inventory the way writing a check will. Touch your local volunteer town to find out where you can help. You can even get started this Thursday, when most communities have a Turkey Day feed. Yes, it's work on a holiday, but what would you do on Thanksgiving morning anyway--sloth nearby in your Pjs watching the Macy's parade on Tv, resting up for the big meal? Here's a tip: those giant balloons are always the same. So get outside, roll up your sleeves and scoop some mashed potatoes for the hungry. Believe me, your own feast will taste even best later.

Give your stuff

Help others and clear out some space in your house by donating clothes, linens, toys and other stuff you know you won't use again. Have the kids outgrown their shoes? Is your linen closet overflowing? Would your rather eat paint than wear the sweater grandma bought you last year (you know, the one with the dancing cartoon reindeer on)? Put it in a box and drop it off at your local shelter, thrift store, or church. Especially needed as the weather turns are warm coats and blankets.

Give as a gift

You're going to spend money on Christmas gifts anyway--why not make some small donations in the names of friends and family? It might not work for everyone, but I find it's the exquisite gift for hard-to-buy-for groups like co-workers.

Bonus

Besides feeding your conscience, helping others keeps your mind off your own worries. Instead of thinking about what you don't have, you'll see what you do have--and how you can use it to make a difference. Seeing for more ways to get your mind off money? Pledge to start the new year fresh by conquering debt and beginning a savings plan this season. Remember, it's good to help others--but don't forget to help yourself.

2. Have a stack of classic chocolates on hand. My kids' school has a fundraiser in September so we can buy just such incidental gifts, along with gift wrap. If you don't have such a fundraiser in your neighborhood, you might think about starting one. (Innisbrook.com handles ours.) If you are just finding for some yummy chocolates to stock up on, Ferrero Rocher is a big favorite, and these chocolates can be purchased inexpensively in gorgeous holiday arrangements at most discount stores. It's nice to have a stack of extra gifts like these in the cabinet during the holidays, when you never know when you'll need an extra gift.

3. A bottle of your favorite (and relatively inexpensive) wine.

4. A journal and a nice pen. It's nice to have a special place to report their favorite personal thoughts of house memories.

5. Homemade crafts. If you're a scrapbooker, make a mini holiday album. If you love to sew, fashion some new placemats or potholders. And if you are not craft inclined, shop for neighborhood gifts at your local holiday craft fair. These are great for finding uncostly holiday gifts that are often just sentimental enough.

6. favorite fixin's. Combine the dry ingredients of your favorite sugar cookie formula in a plastic bag and slide it into an uncostly Christmas stocking. Print the baking ingredients on a festive tag, and use a pretty ribbon to tie it to the stocking, along with a holiday cookie cutter.

7. Fresh flowers. A simple bouquet of flowers, artfully arranged, is always welcome, especially when it arrives with a heartfelt note. Potted plants are wonderful, too.

8. Wreaths or poinsettias. There's always room for more holiday greenery.

9. Gift certificates for your local favorite coffee house, café, or soup restaurant.

10. Movie tickets (and if the house has young children, throw in an offer to babysit, too.)

11. An assortment of candles in festive shades and aromas, or an aromatherapy diffuser and principal oils. Scents of peppermint and cinnamon are especially lovely this time of year.

12. A personalized ornamentation for the neighbor's holiday tree.

13. simple photo albums or photo frames that match your neighbor's décor.

14. An thoughprovoking book of quotes or meditations.

15. A simple note telling each neighbor what they bring to your life and how much you value their friendship.

Happy holidays from our neighborhood to yours!
